Search the vast sky for the Songbirds, who will let you sing and interact with ancient ruins of this world.
This project has been developed by Frozen Leaf (which I am a member of) as the Final Degree Project of the degree I coursed. It was developed in Unreal Engine 5.3. The goal was to create a project by being part of a multydisciplinary team with specific roles and under the supervision of professionals of the industry. While documenting and proving with Event Trackers all the different design decisions done during the production of the game.
My Contribution
Game design: In this project, I've developed the main concept of the game, and the different mechanics and started building the main idea around the use of the flying, explorationand puzzle as part of the game core loop.
We spent around a month prototyping the main mechanincs and developing ideas to create fluid and impactful experience that the user would enjoy at least the core game loop.
Level/Environment design: I created an engaging gaming experience filled with zones and collectables that would give the player interesting & challenging experiences while flying and exploring through them. I also defined the different "biomes" of the levels.
Documentation: At the beginning of the development as a designer I developed a kind of GDD where we write down all the design ideas that the game was going to have to consult it each time we implement new features, so we don't lose the core game pillars or experience we wanted on our game.
Programmer: I was responsible for implementing the Tracking System, which allowed us to monitor user behavior during playtests. The data collected was then processed in Excel to generate heat maps for analysis.
Playtesting Analysis: Analyzing and listening to the feedback about our game during different playtests was the key to keep improving the quality of the project.
